A Whole Beef Share is the best option for families who want to completely stock their freezer with locally raised beef while having the greatest flexibility in selecting how their animal is cut and packaged.
Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and spend their entire lives on pasture, grazing the sunny foothills of Central California.
Grass-Finished – Finished entirely on grass for a leaner beef with a deeper, more traditional pasture flavor.
With a whole share, you will receive approximately 375–500 pounds of beef, depending on the final yield of the animal.
Your order will include a full assortment of steaks, roasts, ground beef, and other versatile cuts that allow you to enjoy a wide variety of meals throughout the year.
How It Works
Reserve Your Share
A $1,000 deposit reserves your whole beef share and is applied toward your final total.
Whole shares can be reserved at any time during the year.
Processing Timeline
Grass finished whole beef shares are processed once each year, with processing and pickup typically occurring in late spring or early summer (May–June).
Choose Your Cuts
Customers purchasing a whole share will receive a cut sheet prior to processing.
This allows you to customize many aspects of how your beef is butchered, including:
• Steak thickness
• Roast sizes
• Steak vs roast preferences
• Ground beef packaging
• Bones, offal and fat requests
Final Payment
The remaining balance will be due at the time of processing.
Final pricing is calculated by multiplying the final pounds of beef yielded by $10.50 per pound, then subtracting your deposit.
Freezer Space Needed
A whole beef share typically requires 16–20 cubic feet of freezer space.
How Long Will It Last?
For many families, a whole beef share provides a year or more of beef.
Approximately 250–300 meals for a family of four.
If your family eats beef:
• 5 times per week, a whole share may last 12–14 months
• 3 times per week, a whole share may last 18–22 months
Delivery or Pickup
Once processing is complete, Lauren will contact you to coordinate delivery or pickup.
Bulk share customers receive free delivery within one hour of Catheys Valley, or you may choose local pickup in Mariposa.
Materials + Care
All Flying B Beef is USDA inspected, vacuum sealed, and flash frozen to preserve freshness and quality.
For best results, keep beef frozen until ready to use. When properly stored in a freezer, our beef is best enjoyed within 12 months.
To thaw, place the sealed package in the refrigerator for 24–48 hours, or thaw under cold running water for quicker use.
Once thawed, keep refrigerated and cook within 3–5 days.

Flying B Beef does not offer shipping at this time. All orders are fulfilled through coordinated local delivery or pickup.
